I am a local Chef in Cedar Rapids and have been in the restaurant scene for 5+ years. I have run the kitchens of Batas, Cedar Ridge, Brewed Cafe, and most recently The Quarter Barrel Arcade and Brewery. I enjoy developing working relationships with multiple farmers in the area to bring a larger presence of local food in Cedar Rapids by using farm fresh ingredients in my cuisine. I grew up on a 100 acres on my parents farm just north of Ames, Iowa which is the root of my passion for locally sourced ingredients. I am a avid wild forager specializing in ramps and wild mushrooms, organic gardener, I raise hens for eggs, and am lucky husband to an amazing woman.
