Sarah Monte, Chris Cookingham and their four year old Luna answer a few questions about growing their own food, cooking with fresh ingredients and sharing their passion with the Marquette community.
Sarah is the Education Coordinator at the Marquette Food Co-op. Here you can find classes and events. Sarah, Chris and Luna can be found at the Downtown Marquette Farmers Market every Saturday.
Why participate in the Marquette Culinary Ride?
The pairing of exercise, beautiful scenery, great food.
What do you enjoy the most about teaching cooking classes and doing food demos? Where would you like to see it go in the future?
The best thing about it is running into people later and finding out that they have cooked the food at home, or a recipe from the class has become a major part of their cooking repertoire. It’s the best feedback you can get. I also love meeting the people in the first place, and the challenge of creating high quality food education for the community.
